Melrose
The Daufuskie Island Resort and Breathe Spa is composed of two plantations, Melrose and Bloody Point. The Melrose Plantation is located in the center of the island on the Atlantic Ocean. It is the centerpiece of the Resort, with the Melrose Mansion, the Beach Club, the Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Club, the Island House Conference Center and the Equestrian Center all located within its boundary. Easter Beach meanders along the coast and the beach cottages look out upon the ocean. There are terrific restaurants available for all tastes. Melrose has beautiful oceanfront and oceanview cottages available as well as ocean, golf and wooded homesites. There are also several beautiful homes available in all price ranges. It is truly a place where life is vibrant.
Bloody Point
Bloody Point is a community at the southernmost point of Daufuskie Island. It is part of the Daufuskie Island Resort and Breathe Spa. The Bloody Point golf course was designed by Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish and is a spectacular layout with views of the ocean, the Mungen River, Tybee Island and Savannah. Bloody Point is studded with live oaks, tall pines, herons, eagles and other native species. There are tennis courts, a pool and a beautiful clubhouse. There are only 110 lots and 32 beautiful villas at Bloody Point. The lots at Bloody Point are either oceanfront, second row, golf or riverfront. The ocean front lots range from one and one-half to two acres and those on the second ocean row, the golf course and the Mungen River average one-half acre. Bloody Point is a cozy community with the most beautiful sunset views on Daufuskie Island.
Haig Point
Daufuskie’s largest community at 1,040 acres - has a feeling of privacy and exclusivity combined with southern hospitality. Everything is here for members, their families and guests, and there’s no shortage of services. Whether you’re in a large house with magnificent water views, golf cottage or Charleston-style condominium, you’ll discover it’s a very friendly place where neighbors know each other, community events have great turnouts, and the members are involved in decisions that affect their day-to-day activities. Haig Point benefits from a well-conceived master plan. It’s private, tranquil and well-run.
Historic District
An appreciation of the past, the easy pace of the people, and vast untouched marshlands are what attract most visitors to Daufuskie’s “historic area” also called “off plantation” by many locals. It’s an adventure - a place to explore slowly, and is just the ticket if you want spaces to walk, bike, drive a golf cart, or an automobile. In every part of this section you’ll find traces of previous cultures; even the word Daufuskie is an Indian name reminding us that early tribes inhabited the island years before.
Oak Ridge
This plantation is currently in the master planning stage of development. A new community named Beachfields is in the early stages of development and will consist of samll lots which are perfect for beach cottages. Oak Ridge is located between Melrose and Bloody Point.
Webb
The Webb tract is the last major piece of undeveloped land on Daufuskie Island. It is expected to eventually be the location of a large marina, a commercial and community center and a significant amount of residential units. Webb is located directly on the Intracoastal Waterway.
